For Nitrocellulose lacquer finishes, it is very common for cracking (also called "checking") to occur when an instrument is exposed to extreme temperatures, and it was very cold here when your guitar was shipped.  Lacquer checking is even more likely to happen with older instruments because the lacquer becomes more dry and brittle as it ages.  I don't know a good way to repair the existing checked finish - the only way I know of fixing it would be a re-finish if you want the guitar to look perfect.

However, there are a few things to consider -

The finish checking will do no harm and will have no negative effect on the sound of the guitar.  And even a cracked finish will still give the wood good protection.

Also, if you refinish the guitar it will change the sound of the guitar.  With a new finish, the lacquer is relatively thick and soft, and it inhibits the ability of the wood to vibrate freely.  As lacquer ages, the finish becomes thinner, and interferes less with the vibration of the wood - this is why old guitars often sound better than new guitars.  The finish on your '94 Deluxe has been aging for 20 years, and I'm sure the sound of the guitar has improved as a result, so perhaps you should not be too quick to think about refinishing.

A complete re-finish job would also be very expensive - and if you planned to ship the guitar back here to have the work done, shipping is very expensive, too - plus, there is always a risk that some other damage could occur during shipping..
